An extremist faction is deliberately inciting terrorism by distorting religious teachings. It is now universally recognized that the correct interpretation and education must be communicated to the general public to counteract this distortion. Combating religious extremism cannot be achieved through force alone.
In Bangladesh, under the leadership of the Emam of Hezbut Tawheed, numerous meetings, assemblies, and roundtable discussions are being organized nationwide to advocate for the true ideals of Islam against religious extremism, fanaticism, zealotry, communalism, gender violence, and the exploitation of religion. Additionally, regular discussions are being held with organizations representing Hindus, Buddhists, Christians, Muslims, and adherents of other faiths, as well as with religious leaders, university professors, researchers, and journalists. In line with these efforts, an interfaith conference took place on June 8 at the National Press Club.
The entire humanity is essentially one family, descendants of one pair of parents, Adam and Eve. According to various religious texts, humanity originates from one father and mother. Similarly, our Creator is one in all religious doctrines, though we may invoke Him by different names in different religions. Consequently, despite our racial, linguistic, and religious diversities—whether white or black, tall or short, Arab, Chinese, Bengali, or Indian—there should be no division among us. These differences are not our core identities. Our fundamental identity is that we are all human beings, one nation, creations of the same Creator, descendants of the same parents, Adam and Eve. Only by fostering this consciousness among humanity can communal hatred be eradicated.
