HM Salim Run 10K Marathon 2025 Held: A Call for National Unity on International Mother Language Day

To spread the message of national unity and awaken the inherent strength of the youth, Pinnacle Sports Association successfully organized the HM Salim Run 10K Marathon 2025.

On February 21, International Mother Language Day, the marathon took place in Diabari, Uttara, under the slogan “Run for Unity.” As a symbol of national unity, 1,200 runners participated in the event. This innovative observance of International Mother Language Day received widespread appreciation.

At the prize distribution ceremony, Pinnacle Sports Association Chairman Hossain Mohammad Salim, the chief guest, stated: “To harness the potential of our youth, we must awaken their inner strength. We are working towards that goal.” He further emphasized that sports play a crucial role in guiding misguided and frustrated youth onto the right path. He also reiterated Pinnacle’s commitment to organizing similar events across the country and highlighted the historical significance of marathons.

The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Khadija Khatun, Chairman of Yildirim Media; Riyal Talukder, General Secretary of Pinnacle Sports Association; Nizam Uddin, Director of MM Agro Ltd.; Rufaidah Panni, Editor of Dainik Desherpatra; S.M. Shamsul Huda, General Secretary of Bangladesh Journalists' Association; Alamin Sabuj, Joint Secretary of the World Human Rights Organization Bangladesh; and renowned writer Riyadul Hassan.

The program was presided over by Dr. Mahbub Alam Mahfuz, President of the organizing committee, and coordinated by Joint General Secretaries A.B. Sharif and Taher Hossain Maruf.

As in previous years, the marathon was held in three categories: Men, Women, and Veterans (50+ years). Among the 1,200 participants, 800 were men and 400 were women, with a significant number of children and teenagers.

Winners of the Marathon:

                     Men’s Category: Champion Borhan Uddin — Finished in 37 minutes

                     Women’s Category: Champion Tanjila Akter — Finished in 65 minutes

                     Veterans’ Category: Champion Abdus Salam — Finished in 41 minutes

Each category’s champion received 5,000 BDT, while runner-ups were awarded 3,000 BDT. Additionally, all finishers received medals. The chief guest and other distinguished guests presented the awards to the winners.

The event was supported by several leading corporate sponsors, while Dainik Kaler Kantho and Dainik Desherpatra served as the official media partners for the marathon.
