With abundant enthusiasm and inspiration, the final match and prize distribution ceremony of the 'Hossain Mohammad Salim Kabadi Tournament 2023' took place in Noakhali. Ujjol Sporting Club achieved the honor of becoming the champions, while Laksam Abu Ubaida Sporting Club became the runners-up.
On Sunday, December 24, in the evening, the event unfolded at the playground of Chashirhut Nurul Haque High School in Sonaimuri Upazila. Following the conclusion of the match, a prize distribution ceremony was organized.
Under the supervision of Hezbut Tawheed's central committee's sports director, Riyal Talukdar, Hossain Mohammad Salim Kabadi Tournament's management director, Anamul Haque Bappa, served as the chairman of the event. Hezbut Tawheed's respected Emam, Mr. Hossain Mohammad Salim, was present as the chief guest at the ceremony.
In his keynote speech, Mr. Hossain Mohammad Salim stated that the youth of any nation plays the most crucial role in its progress and development. However, our youth society is being led astray in various ways, including drug addiction, militant ideologies, political unrest, and device addiction. Selfish politics is turning their lives into a threat. To protect the nation from all these conspiracies, it is essential to provide healthy entertainment and sports facilities for the youth.
He further emphasized that there is no alternative to sports in shaping our body and mind. Therefore, to keep our youth away from destructive activities, to create dynamism and a sense of brotherhood among them, and to build a healthy nation, this Kabadi Tournament has been organized. Through this event, it is expected that the youth will be inspired, and the youth society will stay away from drugs, Eve-teasing, and political unrest. However, it is urged that unhealthy competition and rivalry should not prevail in sports, and everyone should aim towards unity and cooperation, said the leader of Hezbut Tawheed.
As special guests at the event, the Chairman of Tawheed Kabbadi Team, S.M. Samshul Huda, Yildirim Media's Chairman Khadija Khatun, former Deputy Managing Director of Titas Gas Limited Ayesha Siddika, Chief Advisor of the Tournament Organizing Committee Nizam Uddin, Director of the Farmer's Development Project Md. Mahiuddin, Awami League leader Meharab Hossain Bhutto, Abul Kashem Member , prominent members Shahadat Hossain Rasel, and Alamgir Hossain Member were present.
The Hossain Mohammad Salim Kabadi Tournament's auspicious inauguration took place on November 9th, with the participation of 32 teams.
Over the course of a prolonged one and a half months, the tournament unfolded with enthusiasm, featuring the first round, second round, quarterfinal, semifinal, and final matches. Makdad and Mehrad Sporting Club secured the third position through intense competition among each team.
Ujjol Sporting Club claimed the championship in the final match, while Laksam Abu Ubaida Sporting Club became the runners-up.
At the end of the matches, the Sports Management Council honored the members with crests, recognizing the best raider, best defender, man of the match, and distributed awards among the winners.
In the ongoing tournament, spanning 64 matches, every game concluded peacefully and harmoniously, without any unpleasant incidents, bringing satisfaction to the enthusiastic audience and expressing gratitude to the organizing committee.
