Hossain Mohammad Salim, Supreme Leader of the non-political movement Hezbut Tawheed, delivered a speech emphasizing the necessity of transforming the current system to align with the principles ordained by Allah. Speaking at a discussion titled "Islam’s Solution for State Reform," held on Monday morning at the Kushtia District Shilpakala Academy auditorium, he highlighted the fundamental flaws in the existing system and called for its complete overhaul.
He remarked that while the interim government has taken steps toward reform, this is insufficient to address the root causes of societal issues. According to him, a complete replacement of the current system with the one provided by the Creator is essential. Salim explained that human-made ideologies such as democracy, socialism, monarchy, emirates, and dictatorship stand in contrast to the divine system of Islam. He emphasized that the choice between these systems determines the outcomes society will experience, advocating for the adoption of the celestial system for a better future.
The Imam further elaborated on the systemic flaws, stating that the foundational defects in the current system have resulted in visible problems that persist despite collective efforts to resolve them. He argued that addressing these symptoms without tackling the root causes is futile. He reiterated the need for systemic change to align with Allah's guidance.
In his speech, Salim also addressed global issues, warning that terrorism has pushed the world toward the brink of a major conflict. He expressed concern over domestic and international conspiracies aimed at destabilizing Bangladesh. To safeguard the nation, he stressed the importance of uniting the population against terrorism, militancy, religious exploitation, corrupt politics, and communalism.
The Imam criticized certain Islamic groups for spreading false rumors and inciting religious frenzy, which he described as contradictory to Islam's noble principles. He lamented that opportunities to establish a favorable environment for Islam, created through sacrifices such as the shedding of students' blood, were squandered by destructive actions, including attacks on homes, shrines, and spiritual centers, as well as acts of looting, vandalism, and arson. He condemned these activities as unacceptable and counterproductive.
Thousands of people gathered at the Kushtia District Shilpakala Academy auditorium to listen to Hossain Mohammad Salim's speech. The venue was filled before the event began, with many attendees waiting outside for hours to catch a glimpse of the Imam.
The event was presided over by Kushtia District President of Hezbut Tawheed, Akkas Ali. Moshior Rahman, Central Coordinator Nizam Uddin, Khulna-2 Division President Jaseb Uddin, Women and Child Health Secretary Sultana Razia, Khulna-2 Division Women’s Secretary Jerin Sayera, and Kushtia District Women’s Secretary Ammara Akter Shapla.
