Sherpur Correspondent:
With the theme that there is no alternative to establishing a Tawheed-based modern state to resolve the ongoing crisis, a workers’ conference of Hezbut Tawheed was held in Sherpur. The conference took place on Wednesday morning at the Utsab Community Center in Sherpur town.

The event was presided over by Muminur Rahman Panna, President of Hezbut Tawheed’s Sherpur District unit. The keynote address was delivered by Mohammad Nizam Uddin, Secretary General of Hezbut Tawheed. In his speech, he said that although nearly 80 years have passed since the British left, the nation has not achieved true independence or liberation. He explained that this is because the laws and judicial system left behind by the British were never replaced with the laws of Allah. Politics, the economy, education policy, and the legal and judicial systems, he said, are all still operating under the colonial framework.

He further stated that due to an interest-based economic system, the nation is now trapped under a debt burden of 21 trillion taka. Under the banner of democracy and in the name of elections, the people have been repeatedly deceived.

Calling the man-made system a complete failure, he said the time has come to establish a modern state system based on the divine system given by Allah. He added that Hezbut Tawheed continues to call upon people toward this goal.

Special guests at the conference included Joint Secretary General Mashiur Rahman, Mymensingh Divisional President Enamul Haque Bappa, Divisional Women’s Affairs Secretary Rozina Akhter, Sherpur District General Secretary Suman Mia, and Sherpur District Women’s Secretary Nusrat Jahan Sharmin, among others.
