Dhaka, 17 January 2026: A grand workers' conference titled “Forming Public Opinion is Essential for Establishing Deen” was organized by Hezbut Tawheed in the capital. The event took place on Saturday (17 January) at the MuktiJoddha Smriti Milannayoton hall of the Institution of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh (IDEB) building, under the initiative of Dhaka Metropolitan Hezbut Tawheed.
The conference was graced by the presence of the honorable Imam of Hezbut Tawheed, Janab Hossain Mohammad Selim, as the chief guest. Thousands of workers and supporters from various parts of the capital participated. The massive attendance overflowed beyond the hall into the surrounding areas.
In his keynote address, the honorable Imam expressed deep anger and concern while highlighting the ongoing multi-dimensional conspiracies and obstacles faced by the organization and its workers. He stated:
“A certain extremist group is continuously holding rallies against us. They are regularly spreading lies, misleading the general public, and inciting attacks on us through these gatherings.”
He further added:
“The administration has requested us, citing the current situation, to refrain from holding as many meetings and rallies as before. They mentioned that various quarters are trying to create instability in the country ahead of the election. Very well, we accepted your request. However, in that case, the government must also take responsibility to stop the rallies being held against us, the incitement being given to the public, and the attempts to create mobs. But we have not seen any such initiative from the government side. This is clear discrimination. Two different policies cannot run in one country.”
While delivering his speech, he reminded everyone of the principles and ideals of the organization, saying:
“We are a law-abiding organization with no record of breaking the law. We work for peace, harmony, and secular spirit. We speak out against extremism and all forms of terrorism. Yet we are being attacked here and there. However, the state is duty-bound to protect the human rights of every citizen.”
As a special guest, Khadija Khatun, Chief Advisor of Hezbut Tawheed, delivered valuable guidance and advice to workers and leaders at all levels. She emphasized:
“Obstacles and conspiracies will inevitably come when walking on the path of truth, but one must remain steadfast in their ideals with patience and firmness. Without being misled by propaganda, the true welfare of humanity can be achieved only by spreading the real teachings of Islam with peace and discipline.”
The conference was presided over by Dr. Mahbub Alam Mahfuz, Joint General Secretary and Divisional Head of Dhaka Division. Special guests who addressed the gathering included General Secretary Md. Nizam Uddin, Joint General Secretary and Head of Women’s Wing Rufaida Ponni, Joint General Secretary S.M. Shamsul Huda, Organizational Secretary Enamul Haque Bappa, Literary Editor Riyadul Hasan, and Executive Member & Joint Women’s Editor Ayesha Siddika, among others.
Speakers highlighted that for nearly three decades, Hezbut Tawheed has been working relentlessly to preserve communal harmony in the country and to propagate the true essence of religion, while strongly opposing drugs, terrorism, and extremism. Yet a vested interest group is misusing religion to mislead ordinary people and obstruct the peaceful programs of Hezbut Tawheed. They strongly demanded that the government take strict legal action against these instigators and attackers.
The conference, which began at 10:00 AM, witnessed tremendous enthusiasm and zeal among the participants. Members who came from various districts of the country were urged to remain united for the welfare of the nation and to stay firmly committed to the path of truth with patience and discipline under all circumstances.
InshaAllah, such programs of Hezbut Tawheed will continue. Let us all remain steadfast and united in this great mission of establishing Deen.
