Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.
Taqabbalallahu minna wa minkum. Eid Mubarak!
On behalf of the non-political movement Hezbut Tawheed, I extend heartfelt greetings and congratulations to all. At this critical juncture for the nation, we come with a sincere call. Today, the entire world is burning in the flames of severe unrest. There is hardly any trace of peace anywhere. In particular, the Muslim Ummah is facing some of the most brutal and inhumane violations of human rights in history.
Approximately 25% of the world’s population—around 2 billion Muslims—are divided into 57 nation-states. Despite such vast numbers, when Palestine is being erased from the world map, we are unable to take any effective action. Millions of Muslims in Myanmar remain displaced and deprived of basic human rights. We are all aware of the devastation of war imposed unjustly on Iran. Across the world, the suffering and humiliation of Muslims seem endless.
On the other hand, our beloved homeland Bangladesh has completed 54 years of independence. Yet, a culture of endless demands, strikes, political conflict, counter-politics, and violence has crippled the nation. Currently, the country is burdened with over 23 lakh crore taka in foreign debt (source: BBC). In other words, the entire nation is trapped in a web of debt. Considering this situation, the interim government initiated state reform efforts.
At that time, we presented our clear position to the government. We stated that the current state system is man-made. This flawed system, rooted in European colonial and Christian frameworks, cannot eliminate corruption, stop money laundering, end judicial oppression, or establish economic justice. To achieve peace and liberation, the system given by Allah must be established. We submitted a comprehensive proposal outlining how the Deen of Allah—based on the Qur'an—can be implemented across the state in a modern context.
Our proposal is titled: “A Tawheed-Based Modern State System.”
We have presented this framework not only to the government but also to journalists in press clubs across nearly all districts of Bangladesh. We continue to promote this vision both online and offline.
The people of our country have long become accustomed to colonial-era systems and laws shaped by Judeo-Christian civilization. Under the banners of democracy and socialism, they are trapped in man-made ideologies and political divisions. Many have forgotten that after accepting faith, a Muslim is required to govern life and society according to Allah’s laws alone.
Unfortunately, religious organizations today are fragmented into various sects and groups. As a result, they are unable to channel their collective strength toward the clear goal of establishing the Deen.
At this point, we believe much time has already been lost. Irreparable damage has occurred, and many lives have been lost. Worse challenges lie ahead. Therefore, I make a heartfelt appeal to the respected scholars:
You are experts in the knowledge of Qur'an and Hadith. You research even the most intricate matters of Shariah. You know that the foundation of Islam is Tawheed—“La ilaha illallah, Muhammadur Rasulullah (ﷺ)”—meaning that no law is to be followed except that of Allah. In the Qur'an, after defining a believer, Allah mentions striving with life and wealth (Surah Al-Hujurat 49:15). This striving (jihad) is the comprehensive effort to establish the Deen.
If we examine the life of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), we see that he spent his entire life in uncompromising struggle against shirk, disbelief, and man-made systems.
Today, our country has millions of mosques, respected khatibs and imams, thousands of madrasas, and countless speakers delivering religious teachings. Yet, sadly, the state operates under colonial laws, and justice is administered through systems not based on divine guidance. Therefore, we are failing to fulfill the true demands of our faith.
Through the movement of Hezbut Tawheed, we are trying to convey that the current ineffective political, economic, and judicial systems must be replaced by Allah’s system. For this purpose, we have built a strong and unified movement. Our five-point program is derived from a hadith of the Prophet (peace be upon him), and it reflects a divinely guided framework. He said:
“Allah has commanded me with five things, and I command you with them:
Whoever departs from this unity even slightly removes the bond of Islam from their neck—unless they repent and return. And whoever calls to ignorance, even if they pray and fast, will be among the fuel of Hellfire (reported in Ahmad, Tirmidhi, Mishkat).
Based on this program, we continue our struggle. We believe that this responsibility lies even more upon the scholars than the general public, because people rely on scholars for religious guidance. When any Islamic issue arises, people look to scholars for direction.
Therefore, it is your duty to explain to the people that this man-made system is ineffective and must be replaced by Allah’s system. Just as the Prophet (peace be upon him) united the nation, you must unite people on the basis of Tawheed and engage in a sincere struggle—free from worldly interests, seeking only the pleasure of Allah.
Respected scholars, for centuries, disputes over minor theological and jurisprudential issues have divided the Muslim community into factions. This has replaced unity with division, brotherhood with hostility, and trust with suspicion. As a result, the collective strength of the Ummah has weakened, and the goal of establishing the Deen has been neglected. Anti-Islamic forces exploit these divisions to fuel further conflict.
Due to disagreements over trivial matters, we have wasted valuable time, effort, and resources, and even endangered the existence of the Ummah. Therefore, we believe this is the right time to unite the knowledge, effort, and resources of scholars toward a clear and correct objective. The Hezbut Tawheed movement is working toward this goal.
We have a few specific requests:
First: Speak at least a few words in favor of the true message of Islam. Unfortunately, some scholars have spread baseless propaganda against Hezbut Tawheed. We urge you to verify information independently, read our publications, and understand our actual position.
Second: Guide people toward the pure Tawheed of Allah. Help them understand that peace cannot be achieved through man-made laws.
Third: From mosques, gatherings, madrasas, and all platforms—online and offline—highlight the failures of the current system and build public awareness in favor of Allah’s system. Emphasize the meaning of Tawheed, the importance of unity, the significance of striving (jihad), and the necessity of establishing the Deen.
Let us set aside all differences and unite to establish Allah’s Deen on His earth.
May Allah help us. Ameen.
