The grand finale of the ‘Hossain Mohammad Salim Minibar Football Tournament’ took place in Noakhali amidst great enthusiasm and festivity. Organized by the Pinnacle Sports Association, the event was held on January 26 at the Chashirhat Nurul Haque High School field in Porkora Village, Sonaimuri Upazila, Noakhali. The tournament, which commenced on December 14 with a grand inauguration, featured 24 competing teams from the Chattogram division. Over the course of one and a half months, intense matches unfolded, culminating in a final face-off between Nurul Haque Academy and Shaheed Saifullah Sporting Club. Demonstrating remarkable skill and determination, Nurul Haque Academy secured the championship title with a decisive 2-0 victory in the 50-minute match.

Following the thrilling final, a ceremonial award distribution took place, graced by the presence of Hossain Mohammad Salim, the founder of Pinnacle Sports and leader of Hezbut Tawheed, alongside other distinguished guests. In his address, the chief guest underscored the significance of sports in steering young individuals away from detrimental influences such as drug addiction, terrorism, extremism, unethical politics, and excessive digital dependence. He emphasized that sports serve as a powerful medium to nurture social harmony and channel youthful energy toward a productive future. Drawing from Islamic history, he highlighted the athletic traditions of the Messenger of Allah Muhammad’s (PBUH) companions and how sports played an integral role in their physical and mental fortitude. He noted that members of Hezbut Tawheed actively engage in various sporting activities to enhance their overall well-being, upholding these historical values. He also mentioned that the esteemed Imamuzzaman himself was a football player in his youth and had a deep passion for the game.

He said, “Islam places importance on physical sports because they help people stay physically healthy and maintain their strength and ability in any challenging situation. Allah Almighty loves active, energetic, and strong believers. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, ‘A strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than a weak believer.’ Therefore, Islam emphasizes sports that enhance physical capability and strengthen a person’s self-confidence.”

The award ceremony, presided over by Salim Hossain, President of Pinnacle Association Chattogram Division, witnessed the presence of several notable figures, including Hezbut Tawheed’s Central Coordinator Nizam Uddin, Pinnacle Sporting Association General Secretary Real Talukdar, Finance Secretary Ainul Haque, and Assistant Head Teacher of Chashirhat Nurul Haque High School, Rakib Al Hasan Lihi. The field was packed with thousands of enthusiastic spectators, who cheered with excitement as the two teams delivered an electrifying performance. The victorious Nurul Haque Academy was awarded a trophy along with a cash prize of BDT 50,000, while the runners-up, Shaheed Saifullah Sporting Club, received a cash prize of BDT 30,000. In addition to team awards, individual accolades such as ‘Man of the Tournament’ and ‘Man of the Match’ were presented, along with medals for all players and recognition for the referees who officiated the games.

The Pinnacle Sports Association, founded in 2016 by Imam Hossain Mohammad Salim, has been instrumental in promoting various sports, including football, kabaddi, badminton, and swimming. Over the years, the organization has successfully hosted more than 200 tournaments across the country. In August of the previous year, the association also organized a month-long edition of the ‘Hossain Mohammad Salim Minibar Football Tournament’ at the same venue, further demonstrating its commitment to fostering athletic excellence and youth engagement through sports.
