Imam Hossain Mohammad Salim, the Supreme Leader of Hezbut Tawheed, made this statement on Saturday, September 21, at 10 AM, during a discussion titled "The Role of Islam in State Reform" organized by Hezbut Tawheed Dhaka Metropolitan at the Institution of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh (IDEB).
Imam Salim remarked that many people are now realizing that the old system must be changed. The current system has failed and deteriorated, which is good news. We have long maintained that the system itself needs to be overhauled. Now, a significant portion of the population, including student leaders, university students, journalists, and teachers, is beginning to acknowledge that the system that has governed our society, state, economy, and administrative structure for centuries is flawed. This system must be replaced, not merely reformed. We believe this shift in perspective is a positive development. Until now, many people considered this corrupt system to be inviolable and beyond question.
He further emphasized that in order to establish peace, the system must align with the model provided by Allah. "Allah did not create humans and leave them aimlessly on this earth. He provided a blueprint—a system—for how human families, societies, states, economies, and politics should function. This system is known as Deen, which means way of life. Only when this Deen—this system—is implemented can real reform truly occur."
Addressing the Islamic political parties, Imam Salim posed the following question: "Have you all united to propose to the government that, instead of following democracy or socialism, the state should adopt Allah’s laws? Should we not live as brothers, cease our fighting, and govern the state according to Allah's laws?"
"If you do not have the courage to do this, then transfer the power to us, and we will govern according to Allah's laws. We will not touch even a torn shoe of yours or your leaders."
He continued, "If you refuse to transfer power, we will fight against you. We, millions of Tawheedi people, have united to either establish Allah’s laws or sacrifice our lives for it."
"Have you made such a proposal? No, you have not. However, the policy set forth by the Messenger of Allah Muhammad (PBUH) for establishing Islam was precisely this. University students, in their fight for quota reform, sacrificed their lives. In the face of their movement, the government was forced to flee. You took advantage of that opportunity, thinking you had established Islam. But no, you merely created an opportunity for its establishment. If you do not cease what you have started, this opportunity will be lost forever," the Hezbut Tawheed leader warned.
On the topic of mob justice, which is contrary to the noble principles of Islam, he stated, "When an environment was created for the establishment of Islam through the sacrifices of students' blood and the fall of the government, many, in the name of Islam, began attacking homes, shrines, and businesses, engaging in looting, vandalism, and arson."
"At the Baitul Mukarram Mosque, a sacred space for the religious people of this country, where the people’s religious sentiments are placed, you fought and shed blood. This is undesirable for anyone. It is regretful," he expressed.
He then issued a warning: "Islamophobes across the globe are spreading propaganda against Islam, claiming that Islam, the Quran, and the Messenger of Allah Muhammad (PBUH) teach terrorism. They promote the idea that Muslims are terrorists. As a result, Islamophobia has spread in Europe and America. They fear that if Islam is established here, this country will become a hell. The media in neighboring countries has labeled our nation as extremist, terrorist, and fundamentalist. And by implementing mob justice, you are helping them create the conditions they need."
"You have issued threats in front of my house. You said you would attack, evict, and gave me an ultimatum. You even threatened to dismember me, with no one even receiving a part of my body. Such illegal, anti-social, and uncivilized actions you have taken. In Noakhali, you have threatened to kill me after holding a rally."
The event was chaired by Dr. Mahbub Alam Mahfuz, Hezbut Tawheed's Dhaka Division Amir. Special guests included Hezbut Tawheed's Spokesperson and International Media Secretary Md. Moshiur Rahman, Central Information Secretary SM Samsul Huda, and Central Literary Secretary Riyadul Hasan.
Also present were Dhaka District President Yunus Ali, Central Education and Training Secretary Saifur Rahman, Sports Secretary Rijal Talukder, and Amir of Uttara Zone Mostafizur Rahman Titu, among others.
